On my heart

This is a picture of the mint that sprung up in my garden last Spring.  I hope you can see that it is shaped like a heart.  It was the first Spring after my husband died and I felt like it was a love note from God just for me!

All over the earth, people have been finding many things in nature shaped like hearts!  I believe God is showing us how much He loves each and every one of us!

As happens often, what I wanted to blog about today came up on the pulpit as confirmation this morning at church.  Worry and fear have no place when we enter into God’s kingdom and His love.

I am posting 1 John 4:18 in three different versions to drive this point home:

1 John 4:18 English Standard Version (ESV)

18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

1 John 4:18Amplified Bible (AMP)

18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love].

1 John 4:17-18 The Message (MSG)

17-18 God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day—our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love.

If you still are walking around clothed in worry and fear as a Christian, don’t feel condemnation.  Just recognize that you are not yet fulled formed in love.  How do you get there?  Put God first and spend time with the King of the universe.  Learn who He is through His Word.  That bible is a love letter right from our Creator!  Get to the heart of Father God and your worries and fears will not be able to stand in His awesome presence!  Make yourself available to Him.  Put what is on His heart ahead of everything else and your whole life will begin to supernaturally fall into place.

Psalm 138Living Bible (TLB)

138 Lord, with all my heart I thank you. I will sing your praises before the armies of angels.[a] 2 I face your Temple as I worship, giving thanks to you for all your loving-kindness and your faithfulness, for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.[b] 3 When I pray, you answer me and encourage me by giving me the strength I need.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

Be Blessed
