If you are someone who pays attention to the prophetic voices, you know that 2014 was about the doors that were standing open in front of each one of us. Here is one excerpt from http://www.theejijahlist.com:

God is entering in to the open doors of our heart and life, and those who open their churches and businesses to Him. It is a time of fresh creative miracles and prophetic overflow! 5774 was the year of the Open Door, and now 5775 is the year of “Entering into” the Open Doors. The Lord will step with you through the doors that have been open.

It will be an amazing season where the double portion of God will come from Him entering into the hearts with an open door and heart to Him. He is bringing the overflow, nourishment, food, rest, and transformation

The Jewish new year, 5775, began on September 25, 2014.  It is our time to enter into the open door as the Lord steps with us.

Many of us transitioned from one season of our lives to another in 2014.  Some of us walked through new, miraculous open doors and some of us transitioned into a season that we didn’t expect or know how to navigate once we got there. Some of us had a mixture of miraculous and unexpected losses (that’s me) as they felt the transition begin to take place.

As I hear God whispering His plan for my life through this open door, I struggle with self-doubt (am I really good enough God?).  As I personally deal with grief and new opportunities in this season, I have never needed more encouragement than I do now.  I am blessed to have friends and family that know what I need when I need it, because they are obeying the unction of the Holy Spirit.

We all have times when we need to be encouraged.  If you are someone who is doing well and you are aware of another person who is struggling with the season they are currently experiencing or just with life in general , reach out and be their cheerleader!  The dictionary definition of encouragement is, “The act of giving support, confidence or hope to someone.”

We all need support and hope.  No one is an island.  I found another little poem that my husband jotted down a few years ago. His thoughts are so simple, yet it was a moment in his life when he must have been very grateful for someone’s kind words.  I hope it was me.  It is entitled “encouragement”.

Are you a person who needs encouragement?  Look inside of yourself and what do you see?  A person just waiting to “be”.   Encouragement comes from the heart of others, whether it is from sisters or brothers.  Encouragement helps us to endure the struggle, to reach our goals that may give us a struggle.  Encouragement comes from the word of God.  Look to Him to be your guide.

As I was running this morning, I felt the Lord say when we support others, we need to find a verse from His word that they can meditate and hold on to.  When I looked at the last line of Eric’s poem, I realized that was also what he was saying.  We need to look to God’s word for guidance, encouragement and everything else that we need to have victory in our current season.

Remember also, that we have people cheering us on in the heavens as well:

Hebrews 12:1-2Living Bible (TLB)

12 Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.

2 Keep your eyes on Jesus, our leader and instructor. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterwards; and now he sits in the place of honor by the throne of God.

If you need encouragement today or have found your own special way to encourage and support others, please share……….

be blessed,

  1. Donna, your encouragement in my life always gives me the strength to keep going…when I think I no longer have it in me. You seem to see the “Suzanne” Jesus has created me to be and I cherish that more than you will ever know. Xoxo
