As I woke up this morning my heart was full and heavy thinking about the people who are walking around on this earth who have not yet accepted the gift. Here we are in this season, the Christmas season, where it’s suppose to be about us celebrating the birth of the Savior and so many people have not yet accepted the gift.
Ephesians 2:8-10Living Bible (TLB)
8 Because of his kindness, you have been saved through trusting Christ. And even trusting is not of yourselves;[a] it too is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it. 10 It is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others.
What if we are right? For those of us who have this amazing relationship, this give and take with the Lord, it’s not a “what if”. This beautiful interaction of give and take just like any relationship on this earth, only in this relationship you are communing and being in fellowship with the creator of the universe. He loved us so much He left us a manual for our lives, the Bible. I know mostly Christians read my blog, but there may be some of you out there saying, that the bible was written by men. It was written by the hands of men, but completely inspired and downloaded by God. If you want to check out an interesting web site on the subject, there is a fascinating one called http://alwaysbeready.com/ that will show you just how amazing the bible really is. It proves how the old testament lines up with the new testament. It also proves all of the prophetic words that have taken place over time up to this point. The bible is also our instruction manual. It has all of the answers to life’s questions. It is also our love letter from God written to us, His beloved.
I would be quite remiss as a believer if I did not reach out and plead for the person who may be reading this blog and still has not accepted Jesus Christ into their heart, to at least give Him a chance. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose by trying. What if we are right? It doesn’t all have to make sense to you right this minute.
So many of you consider yourselves open-minded yet you have completely closed your mind off to Jesus, because when you look at Christians, you’ve allowed the world to tell you that we’re all “haters and judgmental, etc”. We are not perfect, just like you. Yet because of our belief, we tend to be judged more harshly than most. Yes, we do have Christians with a serious dose of religion attached to them that focus more on rules than loving people where they are at. Just like you, we make plenty of mistakes. We are just forgiven by the one who matters the most.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
For those of you who are believers, remember that the most important gospel message that you can ever share with the ones that you love and the ones that you encounter every day in your life who don’t believe, is sharing the love that God has given you and sharing your own personal stories of what He has done for you.
If you are a new believer, dive deep into your relationship with God. He will fill the empty hole inside of you, that nothing else in the world will fill. It’s a God shaped hole and nothing else fits in there, but Him.
As I was running yesterday, I past the pond and the trees are so dry and barren and most of the leaves are gone. The ones that are still clinging to the trees are brown and dead. When we don’t receive the Holy Spirit, we get dry and cracked and lifeless, just like those trees with the dead leaves. God created us to have a relationship with Him. It is when we are relying on ourselves that we feel like those dead leaves…..lifeless, dry, cracked and being blown away by the wind.
This life is a gift. We can either walk through it with the God of the universe as our partner, through His precious Son, Jesus Christ or we can walk it by ourselves, filling our God-shaped hole with everything else and always coming up short and empty.
I pray for each one that reads this blog that you not spend another moment without receiving the gift that will have an impact for all of eternity.
Ephesians 3:6Living Bible (TLB)
6 And this is the secret: that the Gentiles will have their full share with the Jews in all the riches inherited by God’s sons; both are invited to belong to his Church, and all of God’s promises of mighty blessings through Christ apply to them both when they accept the Good News about Christ and what he has done for them.
